HEALTH STATEMENT

Our mission at Copelands is to produce the best American Bulldogs possible. Our dogs are in excellent health and physical condition.  They have the opportunity to exercise freely daily, weather permitting.  We have also recently completed our indoor/outdoor kennels that are climate controlled on the inside, while giving them access to the outside as well.  Kennels are also covered to provide additional protection from the elements and are equipped with mister systems, large shade trees, and insulated dog houses. We use minimal concrete for our kennels too. Kennels are cleaned several times each day, buckets and feed pans are cleaned and sanitized daily, and we also use several different methods to help control flies and mosquitoes in the summer months. We try our best to ensure our dogs are happy, healthy and extremely well cared for.

All dogs at Copelands are in excellent health and receive the best care possible. Vaccinations are done annually on all adult dogs and deworming is done on a regular basis as recommended by our vet.  Your puppy will leave our home having been de-wormed, will have received first puppy shots at 4-5 weeks of age.  Please remember, that UNTIL your puppy has received all puppy shots and de-wormings,  it is still at risk for contracting diseases or parasites which can be fatal. It is also crucial that you do not expose your puppy to animals other than your own family pets, and only if they have current immunizations and de-worming.  It is also strongly advised that you refrain from taking your puppy to dog parks, pet friendly locations UNTIL all vaccinations are completed.  We urge that you provide your American Bulldog puppy with a high quality dog food for optimum growth and development. Dog food with meat as a first ingredient is excellent. There are several excellent brands available.

                                                         HEALTH GUARANTEE

Copelands  American Bulldogs guarantees puppies to be in good health prior to and when shipped to their new homes. Puppies that are to be shipped will be inspected by our vet and will be issued a Health Certificate as required by contract with shipper at purchasers expense. Upon receipt of your new puppy,  you  have 48 hours to get puppy examined by your vet at your expense, to ensure good health of your puppy. Should your vet find a genetic defect, you must provide Copelands American Bulldogs a written statement of findings from vet performing examination indicating such findings, as well as all medical records, labs tests, x-rays etc. for verification purposes.  Copelands American Bulldogs reserves the right for second opinion by our vet of said findings.

Copelands American Bulldogs offers a replacement guarantee only from another litter. We do not offer refunds.  Failure to have your puppy inspected by a vet within 48 hours of receipt will void entire guarantee. The following restrictions apply for replacement puppy guarantee:

1)  You must have puppy with defect either put down, spayed or neutered. (Verification from vet finding defect, and performing euthanasia, spay/neuter must be sent to Copelands American Bulldogs immediately.)

2)  Registration papers must be returned with documentation from vet.

We offer a 12 month guarantee against Crippling Canine Hip Dysplasia as long as your dog has not been bred,  used for weight pulling, hunting, ranching, or received a prior injury to hind quarters or barrel. All testing and X- Rays are to be completed or an evaluation performed by the age of 12 months of age.  If dog is found to have  Canine Hip Dysplasia, the dog will be replaced upon written verification from Penn Hipp with the following conditions:

1)  Euthanize dog (written verification from vet required) and return of registration papers. 

2)  Having dog spayed/neutered (written verification from vet required) and return of registration papers.

Failure to have your dog Penn Hipped by 12 months of age will void this guarantee. Notification to Copelands  American Bulldogs must be made within 24 hours of findings for replacement guarantee.

3) This guarantee applies only to dogs/puppies bred by Copelands American Bulldogs are are valid only to the original purchaser of dog/puppy. Guarantee must be requested in writing at time of sale by purchaser.  Guarantee is void if any dog is used for breeding prior to 18 months of age.  Guarantee is not offered on any puppy sold for less than $1200.00.   Any and all expenses regarding replacement puppy guarantee (shipment, vet expenses, medical costs) are the sole responsibility of the original purchaser.  Copelands American Bulldogs will not be held responsible for any vet bills or other incurred costs for puppies or dogs sold.
